Are you a hands-on leader with a strategic mindset and a passion for operational excellence? We're looking for a Fleet Maintenance Manager to take ownership of our vehicle and equipment maintenance program—driving safety, compliance, and uptime across our fleet.

 

This high-impact role is responsible for leading a team of skilled technicians, managing preventive and corrective maintenance, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure our fleet is always ready to perform. đź”§ What You’ll Do

  • Lead a high-performing team of technicians and support staff, driving accountability, development, and performance.

  • Design and manage a comprehensive maintenance program to ensure the safety, compliance, and readiness of all fleet vehicles and equipment.

  • Oversee daily operations: inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance scheduling.

  • Partner with vendors and internal departments to ensure timely service and minimal downtime.

  • Manage budgets, track KPIs (like vehicle downtime and cost per mile), and identify opportunities for cost reduction.

  • Ensure full compliance with DOT, OSHA, emissions, and licensing regulations.

  • Drive process improvements that boost fleet efficiency, reduce downtime, and extend equipment life.

  • Lead hiring, onboarding, and professional development of the maintenance team.

  • Maintain accurate service and inspection records using fleet management software.

  • Provide regular reporting and strategic recommendations to leadership.


🛠️ What You Bring

  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and inspire teams in a maintenance or operations environment.

  • Strong technical knowledge of fleet maintenance, diagnostics, and repair procedures.

  • Experience managing budgets, parts inventory, vendor relationships, and safety compliance.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a proactive and collaborative approach.

  • Familiarity with fleet management systems and Microsoft Office tools.


📚 Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Automotive Technology, or a related field (preferred).

  • 5+ years of fleet maintenance experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.

  • Experience in logistics, transportation, or waste management is a plus.

  • ASE certification or similar industry certifications (preferred).


đź’Ş Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in both office and fleet yard environments.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally work outdoors on uneven surfaces.

  • Comfortable performing inspections and walking/standing for extended periods.
